Passive decision-makers lose out

How do you want to show up?
“What are your top 3 next interactions? And how do you want to show up in each?”
Twice a week, one of my Stanford MBA instructor asked us these simple questions.
One day, I’d write:
“Meeting with the CEO of ClimateCo: I want to use confident body language and share how I’d help them go to market”
Another day, a reminder to be my best self during mundane tasks:
“Be proactive and positive with my wife when packing for the weekend trip”
From unconscious to conscious decision-making
We make decisions about how we show up all the time: What we wear, what mindset we bring, our hairstyle, and our energy level.
They’re all choices.
When we’re passive decision-makers, we lose out:
We bring our uncertain selves to a situation which demands confident leadership
We let our tiredness shine through in a job interview, seeming apathetic about the role
We learn less, because growth happens through intention and practice
Be intentional.
Apply it
For your next interaction, whether high stakes or not, ask yourself:
🤷 How do you want to show up?
🤩 How do you want the other person to remember you?
❤️ What do you want the other person to feel?
